Communication Process
Roads are the only means of communication. There are few river paths in the upazila. The total length of the road is 330 km. Of these, 72 km are paved roads and the remaining 26 km are unpaved roads. Road communication of four unions exists with Upazila Sadar. Gobindganj-Ghoraghat-Phulbari, Ghoraghat-Hili, Ghoraghat-Panchbibi and Ghoraghat-Palashbari paved roads are notable.Roads have ushered in a new era of communication. Ghoraghat The Bailey Bridge, built in 1996 on the Karatoya River, has fulfilled the long-cherished dream of the people of Ghoraghat. At present cars, buses, trucks, tempos, motorcycles, bicycles, bullock carts, rickshaws, vans and other vehicles ply on all the roads of the upazila. However, rural unpaved roads become muddy during the rainy season. It is quite difficult to move. Even then the communication system of the upazila is much better than before. Planting saplings of various species on both sides of the road is increasing the shade and decoration of the road. But recently a class of unscrupulous people is cutting down trees planted on both sides of the road in an unauthorized manner.
