এনজিও কার্যক্রমঃ
দেশের অন্যান্য জায়গার মতোই ঘোড়াঘাটেও বেশ কিছু এনজিও কাজ করে থাকে। বিশেষ করে গ্রামীন ব্যাংক, ব্র্যাক, আশা, দীপশিখা, হিড বাংলা, ঠেঙাগামারা ও সিসিডিপি-র নাম উল্লেখ করা যায়। ঐ সব এনজিও ছাড়াও আরো কিছু এনজিও অতি সম্প্রতি কাজ করছে এ উপজেলায়। সেগুলো হলো টালিঠাকুরী, নেজারণ মিশন, মিড ফাউন্ডেশন, আলশালা ও ওয়ার্ল্ড ভিশন বাংলাদেশ, পদক্ষেপ ইত্যাদি। দরিদ্র জনগোষ্ঠীকে অর্থনৈতিকভাবে স্বাবলম্বী ও আত্মসচেতন করার উদ্দেশ্য এসব এনজিওর কাজ প্রশংসনীয়। ক্ষুদ্র ঋণদান কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে বিত্তহীন মানুষকে স্বচ্ছল করতে এনজিও দের ভূমিকা একেবারে খারাপ নয়। তবে কতজন দরিদ্র স্বাবলম্বী হতে পেরেছে তার সঠিক পরিসংখ্যান জানা নাই।
